We are in a small medieval village of Chianti, San Donato in Poggio, awarded by the Italian Touring Club as 1 among the 300 most beautiful villages in Italy .It is far 21 km from Florence and 30 km from Siena and close to very famous location like Monteriggioni and San Gimignano that it is clearly visible from our terraces, from where you can also see the popular Chiantigiana road. This national road will take you in a few minutes into the wonderful Castellina in Chianti, Radda in Chianti and Greve in Chianti. Our village has its own special characteristic ,the Quiet, because there is not the stress of city life. In our b & b you will live an experience of history, of art and of mystery….According to Carlo Celso Calzolai, he wrote in his book about San Donato in Poggio history that on a painting in our living room, according to what there would be the signature of Durante Alighiero degli Alighieri, Dante. For a historical italian law of 1900 we can not us not change our style and our rusticity. In winter you will find an old-style wood-burning stove with a warmth that smells of antique, while in summer the ceiling ventilation will give a pleasant cool
Our Bed & Breakfast
is a historic building located in the “piazza” of the Medieval village of San Donato in Poggio. It’s across another ancient historic residence, Palazzo Malaspina, now a venue for cultural activities and events. Dinner on our fresh romantic terraces and enjoy breathtaking views of the Chianti countryside. Or try out one of the restaurants of the village, they all have outdoor dining during the summer. No car needed, everything is at walking distance in San Donato in Poggio. In not much time you will can also visit other quiet medieval towns of great interest like Badia a Passignano, splendid abbey with inside a fresco by Ghirlandaio , it is the Ultima Cena, Barberino Val del’Elsa and Certaldo, typical medieval villages with wonderful views and Certaldo is the birthplace of italiane writer Boccaccio .

You’ll find light colors everywhere. Our decor is made of old and ancient furniture, restored and revisited with a white theme that gives a sense of freshness and freedom.
Our residence spans over two floors with a total of 5 bedrooms, each one with private bathroom, ceiling fan, and wood burning heater. Each room has Wi-Fi, iron,iron board, coffee maker, towels .toilet paper and daily cleaning.

Restored townhouse in lovely village of San Donato. Lots of old features and collection of old memorabilia. Fantastic views over Chianti from roof terrace where breakfast is served. Paolo and Valeria are great hosts and looked after us very well. We will go back again!!!
